  • Today is the last week for Children’s Sunday School; we will break for the summer and resume in the fall.
  • We would like to thank our Sunday School Teachers - Esther, Dorathy, Max, Ruth, Theresa, and Hajah for teaching our children so well this past year.
  • Discipleship Circle: Today (4th) at 7 pm at the church. Our final discipleship circle of the season will be on June 18, after which we will take a break until the fall.
  • Food Bank: Tuesday (6th) Hosts: Ben, Pearl; Set up:
  • MCC Thrift Shop Volunteer Appreciation at Holyrood Mennonite Church, this Friday (9th) at 6 pm.
  • MCA Women’s Retreat: This weekend (9th - 11th) in Sylvan Lake.
  • Pastor Werner will be presenting the results of his Doctor of Ministry research next Tuesday evening, June 13th at 7 pm at the church. All are welcome! Please bring squares or finger foods to share following the presentation.

  • Hannah Loewen is at her home in Leduc with congestive heart failure. Please pray for her. If any of you would like to connect with her, she is open to calls or visitors.
  • Pray for Florence’s friends who are needing support and employment.
  • Pray for Dixon as he searches for employment.
  • Pray for Godfrey and his family as he travels to Tanzania for ministry training at the Mennonite Theological College of Eastern Africa.
  • Please pray for Norm Nicholson. Norm has been having health issues off and on for the last month and last week he went to a doctor to get checked out. The procedure that the medical staff in Bobo wants to do/is suggesting to do is rather invasive. He and Lillian feel more comfortable continuing the process in Ouaga so are moving their family to the capital city once more for an indefinite period of time. Please pray that this issue can be easily treated.
  • Featured prayer request from the wider church (to receive regular prayer requests, subscribe to PrayerNet at: www.commonword.ca/ResourceView/59/7507): Ramadan, a month of prayerful fasting celebrated by Muslims, began at sundown on May 26. Pray for Mennonites serving in Muslim communities in Canada and abroad, and ask God how you can reach out to your Muslim neighbors.

  • What a great weekend! Thank you to all who volunteered, donated, attended and supported the MCC Summerfest and Auction! Over $162,000 was raised!
  • MCC Thrift Shop Volunteer Appreciation Evening at Holyrood Mennonite Church, June 9, 2017, at 6 pm.

  • Camp Valaqua is pleased to invite you to our first ever Garden Party on June 18. Join us for a worship service at 10am and stay for lunch and some camp activities in the afternoon. The event is free, donations are graciously accepted.
  • A new resource on Islam, specifically for churches or groups in AB, is available in Dr. Wes Thiessen. Wes spent over 18 years living and working in the Middle East and North Africa.
