  • Food Bank: Tuesday (7th ) Hosts:
  • Our brother in Christ, Paul White, died this week on Aug. 2. Please keep Paul’s family and friends in your prayers. Paul’s funeral will be held on Saturday, August 25, at Holyrood Mennonite Church. The precise time is not known yet, but the burial will likely occur first, in the morning, followed by a lunch, followed by the funeral service at 1 or 1:30. More details will follow as they become known.
  • Communication from Elders: Joyce Baergen has accepted the role of general coordinator during Werner’s sabbatical. Thank you Joyce! Speakers are lined up to preach for the time Werner is away.
  • Our brother in Christ, Paul White, died this week on Aug. 2. Please keep Paul’s family and friends in your prayers.
  • Pray for Aaron and Rachel as they begin their journey of marriage today.
  • Pray for traveling mercies for Sahr and Thomas as they return from Liberia. Pray for strength for the family as they continue to walk through the grieving process. Praise that Sahr was able to arrange for his mother to accompany him to Edmonton.
  • Pray for Gertrude, as her daughter Gertrude died in Liberia.
  • Pray for the father of Eunice’s niece, as she passed away suddenly.
  • Pray for health for Helena’s friend Diana.
  • Please pray for the 2018 camp staff as they work at Camp Valaqua, and for our church’s youth who will be attending camp this summer. A photo of the camp staff is on the bulletin board.
  • Please pray for Mennonite Church Uganda as it is currently in the process of building and raising funds for a new worship centre which will eventually become its headquarters.
  • Please continue to remember and pray for our members who are no longer able to attend church on a regular basis: Ray and Ginnie Brubaker, Alma Burkholder, Hannah Loewen, George Varghese.


  • Coffee and Conversation - Dave Hubert will be speaking on the topic of “Mennonites in Contemporary North America” this Tuesday at 10:00 at Lendrum (11210-59 Ave). All are welcome!
  • Stories From Palestine: Donna Entz, Suzanne Gross and a Palestinian family will be sharing stories about Palestine on August 17 from 7:00-8:30 at Ten Thousand Villages. This is a way to connect some of the work Ten Thousand Villages sells, with the communities that make things. To RSVP call 780-439-8349.
  • Among & Beyond: Learning about North Edmonton Ministry. Save the date, Saturday, November 10, 2018, to gather with Edmonton’s Mennonite congregations for a potluck meal and multi-cultural concert at Lendrum Mennonite Church. The program includes children’s activities on peace between cultures, and a presentation/discussion by Donna Entz about what it means to be a witness of Christ.
