Community

"No one is an island" is a familiar saying, one that illustrates that every man and woman is in relationship with other people. We live and are defined by our communities. From our early beginnings in the 16th century in Europe, Mennonites have believed that our communities must define themselves as places that embody the presence and love of Christ. From the practical and mundane to the spiritual, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we seek to help each other on our Christian walks, to love each other as Christ does. It is also in community that we look to the teachings of Jesus and seek to find out together what it means to be his followers in the 21st century.
